Proposed Incinerator - Object Now
27th July 2020
PROPOSED INCINERATOR
Veolia, a huge multinational firm, want to demolish their current recycling plant near Alton and replace it with an Incinerator plant for the burning of commercial waste. The planned siting, off the A31 between Upper Froyle & Holybourne, just beyond The Hen and Chicken public house, means that Long Sutton & Well is less than 5 miles due south of the incinerator’s proposed location.
There is an active local campaign opposed to this application, please see their website www.noweyincinerator.com
The public consultation period for Veolia’s planning application is open until 14th August, and the full planning application for an ‘Advanced Energy Recovery Facility” (Incinerator) can be found on HCC’s website here http://planning.hants.gov.uk/ApplicationDetails.aspx?RecNo-21197
At the meeting of LS&W Parish Council last Thursday it was agreed to submit an objection citing the great potential of parishioners being exposed to noxious gases and particulate fall out.
