GIGABIT BROADBAND VOUCHER SCHEME

Dear Resident
The Parish Council would like to gauge what appetite exists, within our parish, to apply for funding towards the cost of installing gigabit-capable broadband when part of a group scheme.

Gigabit capable broadband connections offer the fastest and most reliable speeds available, and the Government
'is committed to a vision of a digitally connected Britain".

Homes and businesses in rural areas of the UK may be eligible for funding towards the cost of installing gigabit-capable broadband. Rural premises with broadband speeds of less than 100Mbps can use vouchers worth £1,500 per home and up to £3,500 for each small to medium sized businesses (SME) to support the cost of installing new fast reliable connections. Please do take time to read the additional information via the website https://gigabitvoucher.culture.gov.uk

You may have read, in the October edition of Parish News, the progress and achievements in South Warnborough. Guy Henshaw, a member of the South Warnborough Voluntary Project Group, has kindly offered to help Long Sutton & Well understand what would be involved in such an application as well as providing support to our own Voluntary Project Group. Were you perhaps, one of the households hoping to be included within the SW application?

Please register your interest in attending a Zoom Meeting at clerk@longsutton.com by Monday the 12th October 2020.

Should enough interest be registered, we will look to set up a Zoom meeting, week commencing 19th October 2020.

Best wishes
Long Sutton & Well Parish Council
